Cindy Almanza

Services are scheduled at 9:30 A.M. Thursday, August 25, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Cindy R. Almanza, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Almanza, 49, died Saturday, August 20, 2005 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joshua Garcia, Caleb Samora, R.J. Rodriguez, Jourdan Rodriguez, Zachary Garcia, and Paul Bratcher Honorary pallbearers will be all other relatives and friends. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 A.M. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Mrs. Almanza was born November 1, 1955 in Artesia, NM; the daughter of Roberto T. Rodriguez and Elvira Carrasco Rodriguez. On August 6, 1983 she was married to Ernest Almanza in Artesia, N.M. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She was a Special Education Teacher at Artesia Junior High School and member of St. Anthonys Catholic Church. She was President of the Volleyball Boosters, and Vice President of the Basketball Boosters. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law Ernest Almanza and mother-in-law Anita Almanza. Survivors include her husband Ernest Almanza of the family home; parents Roberto and Elvira Rodriguez of Artesia; daughter Ashley N. Almanza of Artesia; brother Raul Rodriguez and wife Lorrene of Artesia; sisters Selena Garcia of Artesia, Terry Rodriguez of Artesia, and Jeanie Garcia of Artesia; brother-in-law Anthony Almanza of Artesia; sisters-in-law Maria Almanza of Washington DC, and Julie Almanza of Artesia; 4 nieces and 5 nephews.
