Christopher Fugate

Chris Fugate passed away at the Hospital of Providence - Trans Mountain Campus in El Paso, TX, on September 12, 2024, at the age of 54. He was born February 26, 1970, to Charles and Sue Fugate, in Yuma, AZ. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary. A private service will be held with his family.

A long-standing resident of Artesia, Chris attended Artesia High School, where he played Varsity Basketball for the Bulldogs. Chris was an avid hunter, and fisherman. He loved traveling and being outdoors. He worked numerous jobs throughout his life such as truck driving, oil field, and more with his latest career, as a Site Supervisor for Mosaic Potash Mines. Chris loved his pets and treated them as family. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his Father and Mother Charles and Sue Fugate; Daughter Crisha Morgan, Son In-law Shilo Morgan, and Granddaughter Kira Morgan. Daughter Latosha Fugate, Grandson Zane Fugate Muniz, and Sterling Seal. Son Aaron Fugate, Daughter In-law Preslie Fugate, Grandson Asher Fugate, Granddaughter Zuri Fugate, Granddaughter Nya Fugate. All of Artesia, NM. Brother Richard Fugate, Sister In-law Marissa Fugate, and Nephew Vincent Fugate of Elizabethtown, KY along with many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

The family would like to offer a special thank you to the ICU staff at Artesia General Hospital and the Hospital of Providence - Trans Mountain Campus in El Paso, TX. They all did a very good job at taking care of Chris and the family during a very difficult time.
