Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Saturday, May 3 at First Presbyterian Church in Artesia, N.M. for Christine Doris Parks, 2908 S. Wyoming, Roswell, New Mexico. Mrs. Parks, 78, died Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at her home. Rev. E. W. Lewis will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place. She was born June 3, 1924 in Wareaka, Oklahoma; the daughter of Hugh Cecil Puckett and Vinna Mae Huggins Puckett. She came to the Pecos Valley in 1939 from Texas. In 1941, she married Leonard Mahan in Lovington. On April 17, 1967 she was married to Robert J. Parks in Lovington. He preceded her in death July 28, 1993. She was also preceded in death by her parents; by brothers Raymond Puckett, Sgt. Major Clinton Puckett, Lee Puckett, and Johnny Puckett; and by a great-grandson Brandon Runions. Mrs. Parks was a housewife who was very involved with her family and loved to fish. Survivors include sons Leonard Mahan of Roswell and Mike Mahan of Artesia; daughters Kay Fitzpatrick of Gainesville, Virginia and Janie Leonard of Roswell; a sister Inez Head of Roswell; a brother Wesley Puckett of Roswell; 14 grand-children; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
