Christina Lara

Our beloved mother Christina Lara, 72, of Artesia, NM was called to her eternal resting place on May 21, 2022 after a battle with cancer. Christina was born on May 10, 1950 to Reynaldo P. Chavarria and Maria V Hernandez in Artesia, NM. Mom graduated high school and attended college before marrying Adam Lara in 1978.

She is survived by her mother Mary Hernandez, brothers Reynaldo Chavarria II wife Gina Chavarria, and Redolpho (Chico) Chavarria wife Juanita Chavarria, sons Dominic Chavarria, Adam Lara Jr, Christopher Lara, Daniel Lara, daughters Amanda "Valentina" Cherry and Sarah Lara. Mom loved her 15 grand children and 3 great grand children.

Christina is preceded in death by her husband Adam Lara, brother Ralph Chavarria, nephew Kris Luna and John Ray Duran, Mother in-law Inez Lara, Brother Raymondo V. Chavarria, and father Reynaldo Chavarria.

Moms family goes beyond ours, she was friends with many, and some even called her mom. She was the crazy fun loving lady on facebook catching up with everyone, and always taking pictures of the simpler things in life such as clouds. My mom taught me everything except how to live without her. She is surely going to be missed by many.

Visitation will start at 9am the rosary will be held on Wednesday Jun 1st at St. Anthonys Church at 9:30 Am with Mass at 10Am. Father Frances Lazar will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Christopher Lara Jr, Mark Ornelas Jr, Damian Ornelas, David "Pockets" Aragon, Jose "Pepes" Villa, Reynaldo Chavarria III. Honorary Pallbearers will be moms grandchildren.
