Cheryl Pennington

Services are scheduled for 10 am Saturday, December 16, at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Cheryl Pennington of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Pennington, 53, died on December 9, 2023 at her home.

Leroy Howard will officiate at the services with burial to follow at

Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Riley McCauley, Dustin Pennington, Joe Bain, David Pennington, Johnny Woods, and Peyton Starrett.

Cheryl was born on September 1, 1970 in Lovington, New Mexico; the daughter of Travis A. Hayslip and Charlotte L. Mann Chilson.

She was a homemaker and also pursued her passion for hair by becoming a cosmetologist. She was a honest, funny, and loving person. She loved her husband of 31 years very much. Her daughter and grandchildren were her life. She had many friends and family that she cared for dearly also.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother Jerry Hayslip, father-in-love Milton D. Pennington, and a brother-in-law Chad Pennington.

Survivors include her husband Milton C. Pennington; a daugther Tamatha McCauley and husband Riley; a mother-in- love Kay Pennington; a brother Robert Hayslip; a sister Terri Liss; and grandchildren DeLynn, Kyle, and Bailie McCauley.

The family requests that those attending the service either wear purple clothing and/or a periwinkle ribbon in awareness of Cheryl's battle with cancer.
