Charlotte Hill

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 1, at Terpening Son Chapel for Charlotte Ray Hill, 2501 Sierra Vista Rd, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Hill, 93, died Thursday, November 25, 2010 at Landsun Health Service Center in Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gail Lamb Jr., Jason Lamb, Cris Combs, E.R. Hill, John Guthrie and Tim Kidd.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Tuesday.

Mrs. Hill was born October 27, 1917 in Rising Star, Texas the daughter of Charles M. Lamb and Myrtle Frances McWhorter Lamb.

On Jan. 8, 1934 she was married to Roy Hill in Rising Star, Texas. She came to Artesia in 1938 from Abilene, Texas. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 2001.

She was a owner and operator of several local restaurants and member of Lake Arthur Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Jerry Hill and a brother Charles Lamb.

Survivors include son Mike Hill and wife Claudia of Artesia brother Gail Lamb of Artesia sisters Margaret DeBault of Lawton, Oklahoma, and Dees Coulter of Tucumcari, N.M. also by several nieces and nephews.
