Charles Pinson

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Monday, August 13, at West Main Baptist Church for Charles T. Pinson of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Pinson, 75, died Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Artesia General Hospital.

Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Davis, Terry Davis, Frank Guinan, Danny Harvey, Clinton Pinson, and Aaron Lieb. Honorary pallbearers will be all of Charles former Little Leaguers.

Charles was born July 25, 1937 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Robert Harrison Pinson and Birdie L. Swinford Pinson. He was a lifelong Artesia resident.

On April 21, 1957 he was married to LaRue Bishop in Artesia.

He was a Operator for Navajo Refinery and retired in 1990. Charles loved woodworking, spending time with his grandchildren and family and was a trophy winning dancer.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents and brothers W.R. Pinson and M.T. Pinson.

Survivors include his wife LaRue Pinson of the family home daughter Michelle Drake and husband Billy of Artesia sons Charles T. Chuck Pinson, Jr. and wife Leslie, and Stephen Pinson and wife Renee both of Artesia grandchildren Braxton White, Shawni Pinson, Amber Weaver, Stephanie Jones, Bryce Pinson, and Mckenna Drake greatgrandchildren Zoey White, Christa and Abbigail Weaver, and Pyper Jones sisters Katy Pollock and husband Jim, Irene Ellis and husband Robert, and Iona Davis and huband Bob all of Artesia and a brother Willie Pinson and wife Denise of Artesia.
