Charles Lewis Nabours Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 AM. Friday, November 26, 2004,at Woodbine Cemetery for Charles Lewis Nabours, 1115 Merchant Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Nabours, 86, died Tuesday, November 23, 2004 at Artesia Good Samaritan Ctr. in Artesia. Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Spangler, Wayne Reed, Dale Bean, Hunky Wallace, Mickey Bean, Sam Bean, Jerry Fanning Jr., and Ronnie Barron. Mr. Nabours was born July 24, 1918 in Seagraves, Texas; the son of Aubrey Lewis Nabours and Martha 0 Wilson Nabours. On Nov. 24, 1983 he was married to Madge Wallace in Artesia, NM. He came to Artesia in 1983 from Breckenridge, Texas. He served in the Army during WW II. He was a Small engine repairman, and owned and operator his own business. He was of the Baptist denomination, and a member of the American Legion. Survivors include his wife Madge Nabours of the family home; sons Charles Stanley Nabours of Roswell, N.M., and Edward Lewis Nabours of Vallejo, Calif.; daughter Darlene Hill of Odessa, Texas; step-sons Geary Bethke of Artesia, and Lawrence Bethke of Artesia; step-daughters Alice Reed of Artesia, and Doris Lockler of Artesia; brother Nathan Lee Nabours of New Boston, Texas; sister Eula B. Jones of Midland, Michigan; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.
