Charles Kimbell

Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 6, at Woodbine Cemetery for Charlie E. Kimbell, 1402 W. Gilchrist Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Kimbell, 97, died Sunday, March 4, 2007 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Wayne Bedingfield will officiate at the services. No visitation is scheduled. Mr. Kimbell was born December 17, 1909 in Post, Texas; the son of Joseph G. Kimbell and Lela Anderson Kimbell. On 1934 he was married to Lydia Caraway in Carlsbad, N.M. He came to Artesia in 1931 from Texas. She preceded him in death 1981. He was a Refrigeration Engineer at the observatory in Cloudcroft. Survivors include sisters Onita Titus of Colleyville, Texas and Grace O'Bannon of Tucson, Ariz.; a nephew Robert Daniels of Lockney, Texas and longtime friend Lil Smith of Grand Prairie, Texas.
