Charles Hampton

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 29, at Woodbine Cemetery for Charles P. Hampton, 318 E. Orchard Sp 24, Carlsbad, New Mexico.

Mr. Hampton, 77, died, October 25, 2011, in Lubbock, Texas.

Rev. J. B. Craft will officiate at the services.

Charles was born June 3, 1934 in Dexter, New Mexico the son of Charley Hampton and Helen Hart Hampton. He was a longtime area resident.

He was a truck driver and welder, a member of the Elks Lodge in Carlsbad, and the Baptist Denomination.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include sons Robbie Gene Hampton of Texas, Charles P. Hampton Jr. of Lakewood, N.M. daughter Barbara Ann Garcia of Texas brothers Donnie Hampton of Conroe, Texas, Gayle Hampton of Tucumari, N.M., Loy Hampton of Portales, N.M., Victor Marrs of Carlsbad, and Marion Marrs of Kansas sisters Wanda Hampton of Artesia, and Judith Hampton of Yelm, Washington 5 grandchildren and 3 greatgrandchildren.
