Funeral services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 9 at First Baptist Church for Charles "Charlie" Buck of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Buck, 83, passed away on May 5, 2018 at his home.
Pastor Rick Smith will officiate at the service with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers are Charlie Buck, Josh Hopper, Gentry Hopper, Randy Kinnibrugh, Cole Kinnibrugh and Randy Buck.
There will be visitation on Tuesday, May 8, at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Charles was born on November 12, 1934 in Cottonwood, N.M. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He married Bettie Deaton in 1963 in Artesia. He married Joanne Edwards in March of 1968. On February 14, 2009 he married the love of his life Shirley Doss. He was a lifelong area resident.
He was a A & B Operator at Navajo Refinery for 45 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and the Elks Lodge. Charles loved spending time with his family, traveling, old school values, integrity, dependability and hard work.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Joanne Buck and wife Shirley Buck.
Survivors include his sons Charles Gist of Ruidoso, NM and Joel Edward Buck of Hobbs, NM; daughters Kathy Lynne Hopper of Gatewood, MO and Jo Lynn Greene of Myrtle Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
