Chad Hernandez

Services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 11, 2003, at First Baptist Church for Chad Ross Hernandez, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Hernandez, 20, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003 at Sifting Bull Falls in Eddy County, New Mexico. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 AM. Monday Rev. Doug Partin and Rev. Steve Ormond will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Sable, Ricky Wiles, Brandon Matlack, Will Pardue, Chris Acosta, Manual Acosta, Sy Leyva, Edwin Leyva, Matt, and Kirby. Mr. Hernandez, a lifelong Artesia resident, was born in Artesia on October 26, 1982. He attended the Roswell campus of Eastern New Mexico University and had attended Rice University and Kentucky Christian College; He was a member of Valley Christian Church. Mr. Hernandez was preceded in death by a grandfather. Survivors include his parents Vivian and Jeff Matlack of the family home; a brother Brandon Matlack of Artesia; grandparents Fernando and Maria Luisa Hernandez of Artesia and Julie Bamforth of Oceanside, N.Y.; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
