Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 19, at Hermosa Drive Church of Christ for Celeste Joyce of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Joyce, 77, died Friday, December 16, 2011 at Artesia General Hospital.

Michael Joiner will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Justin Joyce, Daniel Joyce, Zachary Joyce, Mike Witt, Dwayne Pounds, Darryl Brown, Bob Evan Mayberry, and Gary Conklin. Honorary pallbearers will be Lowell Irby, all of the members of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Sunday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Celeste was born October 23, 1934 in Carrizozo, New Mexico the daughter of Willard C. Bradshaw and Carrie Woods Bradshaw. She was a life long Artesia resident.

On April 21, 1956 she was married to Kenneth C. Joyce in Denton, Texas. He preceded her in death May 28, 2005. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and brother inlaw Glen Brady.

Celeste was a Assistant Cashier at Western Bank for 20 years before retiring in 1997. She was also the OwnerOperator Joyce Nursury and Landscaping for 25 yrs. She attended Texas State College for Women in Denton, Texas. She was a member of Hermosa Drive Church of Christ and had a passion for reading, playing cards, and social interaction.

Survivors include her daughter Kathryn Joyce of Houston, Texas sons Michael Joyce and wife Debi of Katy, Texas, Stephen Joyce and wife Polly of Artesia and David Joyce and wife Sharma of Artesia sisters Linda Belvin of Artesia, and Ann Brady of Artesia 10 grandchildren Jessica Mills and husband Chris, Justin Joyce, Daniel Joyce, Sami Joyce, Zachary Joyce, Chelsey Joyce, Danielle Davis and husband Greg, Shelby Joyce and partner Guillermo Bustamante, Ashton Turner, and Kiely Turner and 3 greatgrandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the N.M. Christian Childrens Home, Hermosa Drive Church of Christ Building Fund or a charity of your choice.
