Catarino Gonzales

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, Dec. 23, 2011 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Catarino Ramirez Gonzales, 807 Alvarado Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Gonzales, 85, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at his home.

Burial will be at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandsons.

Catarino was born November 25, 1926 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of Francisco Gonzales and Augustina Ramirez Gonzales. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

On December 18, 1944 he was married to Juanita Perez in Artesia. She preceded him in death May 15, 1990.

He worked in maintenance at AMAX Potash Mines and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sons, and 3 brothers.

Survivors include his mother Tibursia Gonzales of Tulare, California sons Mike Gonzales of Artesia, Angel Gonzales of Artesia, and Johnny Gonzales of Artesia daughters Soki Gonzales of Artesia, Toni Hernandez of Artesia, Sally Jorren of Artesia, Helen Gonzales of Midland, Texas, and Betty Sellmer of Albuquerque, NM 6 brothers and 7 sisters all of California 19 grandchildren, 16 greatgrandchildren, and 1 greatgreatgrandchild.
