A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM, Saturday, March 21,at Mayhill Cemetery, Mayhill, N.M., for Cassie Allene Clayton of Lovington, New Mexico.
Mrs. Clayton, 88, died March 16, 2020 in Lovington,
David Stewart will officiate at the services. Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.
Allene was born April 30, 1931 in Marcia, NM to William Morgan and Ruby Williams Morgan.
On March 6, 1948 she was married to Charlie Clayton in Alamogordo, N.M. She came to Artesia in 1958 from Mayhill. He preceded her in death on November 4, 2012.
She was a member of the Church of Christ and enjoyed all kinds of sewing, crossword puzzles, gardening and taking care of her pets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, and a son-in-law Bill Jackson.
Survivors include her daughters Kay Jackson of Lovington, and Marsha McArthur and husband Guy of Artesia; brothers Darrell Morgan and Melvin Morgan both of Alamogordo; grandchildren Donna Porter and husband Kurt, Sandy O'Connor and husband Jim, and Tim McArthur and wife Kat; great-grandchildren Cody and Cole Porter.
