Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 7, at Trinity Temple Assembly of God for Carol Ann Hopkins, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Hopkins, 48, died Wednesday, February 1, 2006 in Artesia. Peggy White will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Hopkins was born November 4, 1957 in Phoenix, Arizona; the daughter of Jesse Jones and Irene Crossno Jones. On September 22, 1984 she was married to Michael Dean Hopkins in Wellington, Texas. She came to Artesia from Wellington in 1984. Her husband preceded her in death June 12, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a daughter Michaela Hopkins; brothers Charles Collins, Guy Collins, and Deno Collins; and by a sister Marcela Collins. She was an assistant manager for Brewer Oil Company and was a member of Cornerstone Fellowship and Zion Temple. Survivors include her son Justin Jones of Florida; daughters Courtney Schantz and husband Ron of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and Nikki Hopkins of Artesia; brothers Clarence Jones of Texas, William Jones of Indiana, Leroy Jones of California, James Jones of Nebraska, Donald Jones of Nebraska, John Jones of California, Javis Jones of Nebraska, Howard Collins of California, Holman Collins of Illinois, Alman Collins of Illinois, and Leonard Collins of Arkansas; sisters Gladys Jones of Kansas City, Missouri, Mary Jones of Nebraska, Regina McVay of Illinois, Renee Mathis of Texas, Gladine Collins of Illinois, and Maxine Collins of Illinois; and one grandson.
