Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary Monday June 20, 2022 from 1 to 4 pm. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm on Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. A memorial service will be held at on 10 am Tuesday, June 21,2022 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Carmen Calderon Rodriguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Carmen Rodriguez, 82, beloved Mother and Grandmother, was called to her eternal resting place on June 11, 2022. She entered this world on April 11, 1940 in Loving, NM, born to Ventura and Jesusita Calderon.

Burial will follow the services at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sammy Rodriguez Jr, Eduardo Duran Jr., Justin Rodriguez, Raymond J. Baeza, Diego N. Rodriguez, Malcolm R. Wiggins, Michael J. Perez, Xzavier J. Rodriguez, Gavan C. Bryant. Honorary pallbearers her sons Sammy, Peter, Danny and all of her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grand children.

She married the Love of her Life Pete Rodriguez On December 11, 1959. They moved to Artesia in 1961 from Loving, NM. They enjoyed spending time together watching their sons play Bulldog Football. Her favorite place to be was riding shotgun in his truck as they drove though the oil fields. She was a homemaker. Carmen was a great cook. She always made fresh tortillas for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for her husband, kids and grandkids. She loved playing games with her family. She is best known for cheating at the card game skip-bo and spoons. Carmen was a mother to all, her door was always open to everyone. She enjoyed trips to the casino, and her trips to Walmart where she often became a Nascar driver with the motorized scooters. Carmen and her home will always be remembered as a safe loving place where we all were welcomed with open arms and a warm bed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Pete D. Rodriguez, son Harvey Rodriguez, daughter RosaLinda Rodriguez, son Lil Pete Rodriguez, daughter Juanita Rodriguez and numerous brothers and sisters.

Survivors include daughters Cordelia R. Trujillo and husband Rogelio Trujillo of Hagerman, NM, Dora R. Maldonado and husband Manuel of Hobbs, NM, Arlene R. Standard and husband Rodney of Artesia, NM, Christy Bryant and husband Scott Bryant of Carlsbad, NM., daughter-in-law Janice Rodriguez (Harvey's Wife) of Loving, NM, sons Sammy C. Rodriguez and wife Rebecca of Artesia, NM, Pete C. Rodriguez and wife Caroline of Hobbs, NM, Danny C. Rodriguez and wife Irma of Carlsbad, NM. Also 40 Grandkids, 111 Great grandkids, 4 Great great grandkids.
