Byron Rogers, Jr.

A memorial service is scheduled for 2 pm on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at Woodbine Cemetery for Byron Eugene Rogers Jr. of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Rogers, 65, died December 20, 2020 in Roswell, New Mexico.

Cremation has taken place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

Byron was born September 7, 1955 in Artesia NM to Byron E. Rogers Sr. and Mary Ann Baird Rogers.

He attended Hermosa Drive Baptist Church. He was an excellent welder and loved to make jewelry. He played the drums and enjoyed camping and going to garage sales. Byron loved to eat and chocolate ice cream with chocolate syrup was his favorite.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter Monique Rogers.

He is survived by his partner Penny Sutton; daughters Christine Rogers and Candace Rogers; sister Denise Grice; several grandchildren; a cousin Bill Roberts; his best friends Tate Branch, Eddie Wallace, Tim Kidd who would often go rock hunting and target shooting with Byron, and Jesse Guerreio who called him grandpa and said that he was the best boss that he had ever had; extended family Kara, Cameron, Lexi, Kayla, and by his dog Gizzy.
