Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 21, at First Baptist Church for Burl E. Renfro, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Renfro, 77, died Sunday, May 16, 2004 at his home. Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Bob Combs, Saied Namek, Charles Kuykendall, Harold Friesner, Tommy Fletcher, and Jim Bo Smith Mr. Renfro was born January 23, 1927 in Geuda Springs, Kansas; the son of John Arthur Renfro and Enid Muse Renfro. He served in the United Sates Navy during World War II. On May 27, 1950 he was married to Joyce Lee Dodson in Carmi, Illinois. They came to Artesia in 1962 from Houston, Texas. She preceded him in death September 30, 1974. He married Joan Barton on August 29, 1980 in Miami, Okla. His second wife preceded him in death August 15, 1995. He was also preceded by his parents; and by a brother Ralph Renfro. He was an assistant office manager for Bethlehem Steel and a member of First United Methodist Church; the American Legion; and the Moose Lodge. Survivors include a son John Thomas Renfro of Loves Park, Illinois; a daughter Kathy Boyse and husband Benny of Artesia; brothers Thomas George Renfro of Quitman, Georgia and John G. Renfro of Roscoe, Illinois; and grandchildren Jocelyn Boyse and Hannah Boyse of Artesia.
