Bruce Truett

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 21, at Terpening Son Mortuary for Brucie Truett of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Truett, 80, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at her home. Joseph Vargo will officiate at the services with inurnment at Woodbine Cemetery. Cremation is under the care of Terpening Son Mortuary. Mrs. Truett was born May 20, 1926 in Watson, Oklahoma; the daughter of C.B. Winters and Hazel Delk Winters. She moved to Weed, New Mexico in 1936 from Oklahoma then moved to Artesia in 1945. On November 29, 1946 she was married to Wayne Truett in Artesia. He preceded her in death July 4, 1999. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Linda Truett Gurley. She was a graduate of Weed High School and worked as a bookkeeper and bank teller for First National Bank. Survivors include her daughter Lisa Vargo of Grand Junction, Colorado; son Mike Truett of Lovington, N.M.; sisters Mackey Dippery of Aztex, N.M. and Quata Shivers of Bethany, Oklahoma; a brother Charlie Winters of Santa Fe, N.M.; grandchildren Cassidy Compton Paschall of Aztec, Ashley Vargo of Little Falls, Minnesota and Joey Vargo of Denver, Colorado; and a great-granddaughter Laurel Paschall.
