Bobby Loyd

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, March 31, at First United Methodist Church for Bobby Loyd of Artesia, New Mexico. PMr. Loyd, 71, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006 at his home. PRev. Paul Duerkson will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Vic Rodriquez, Danny Rodriguez, Harvey Delgado, Jim Murrill, Frank Morgan, Carl Morgan, Beau Carpenter, and Brian Johnson. PMr. Loyd was born June 26, 1935 in Cross Plains, Texas; the son of Willis Almus Loyd and Beulah Ives Loyd. He came to Artesia in 1943 from Rising Star, Texas. PHe was married to Georgia Crawford on Oct. 2, 1953 in Juarez, Mexico. She preceded him in death on Dec. 26, 1990. POn Aug. 14, 1999 he was married to Imogene Waldrop in Artesia. PHe was President of L amp; R Well Service until Jan. 2000. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Good Sam Travel Club, and A.C.E. Car Club. PHe was also preceded in death by his parents, and by a brother, Truett Loyd.
Survivors include his wife Imogene Loyd of the family home; daughters Cathy Hawkins and husband Lendell of Artesia, Patty Talley of Artesia, and Debbie Tolle and husband Curtis of Artesia; step-daughters Sherry Berry and husband Jerry of Hobbs, N.M., Cindy Carpenter and husband Jay of T or C, N.M., Jamie Johnson of Artesia, and Kim Johnson and husband Mitch of Artesia; brother Dewey Loyd of Midland, Texas; sister Betty Loyd of Roswell, N.M.; grandchildren Jenifer Hawkins, Stacy Tolle, Kim Lopez, and Drew Talley; nine step-grandchildren, and a great-grandchild Ariah Lopez.
