Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 7, at First Baptist Church for Bobby C. Blevins, 9 W. Blevins Road, Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Blevins, 61, died Friday, May 4, 2007 at his home in Artesia. Leo Pennington will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Grissom, Greg Blevins, Bryan Knowlton, Patrick Payne, Justin Montgomery, Keith Jackson, Alex Knowlton, and John Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Grissom, Johnny Blevins, Dennis Knowlton, Cully Knowlton, and Randall Montgomery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Terpening Son. Mr. Blevins was born September 9, 1945 in Ada, Oklahoma; the son of C.A. Blevins and Ruth Wood Blevins. On Feb. 13, 1969 he was married to Donna Montgomery in Artesia, New Mexico. He was a lifelong resident of the Artesia area. He served in the U.S. Army. He was a lab technician at Navajo Refining and a member of Corner Stone Church, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family and friends. Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, sister Clara Grissom, mother-in-law, Effie Montgomery, a nephew Earl Montgomery, and a niece Callie Callaway. Survivors include his wife Donna Blevins of the family home; father-in-law Smokey Montgomery of Artesia; daughters Tracy Schulz of Artesia, and Amy Jeter and husband Darrell of Artesia; grandchildren Ty Schulz, Breanne Smith, Tara Smith, and Wiley Miller; brothers Curtis Blevins and wife Eddie of George West, Texas, and Steve Blevins of Hobbs, New Mexico; brother-in-law James H. Grissom of Ada, Oklahoma; sisters Gayle Patterson and husband Jack of Bridgeport, Texas, Carrie Knowlton of Ballinger, Texas, and Diann Payne of Artesia; brothers-in-law Danny Montgomery and wife Peggy of Pinon, New Mexico, and Tommy Montgomery and wife Brenda of Artesia; sister-in-law Linda Jackson of Artesia; and numerous nieces and nephews.
