Billy Winkle

Graveside services are scheduled at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 11, at Upper Hope Cemetery for Billy Van Winkle, 2903 W. Grand Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Van Winkle, 54, died Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his home.

David Brunson will officiate at the services.

Billy was born February 8, 1957 in Artesia, New Mexico the son of A.J. Van Winkle and Bobbie Munson Van Winkle. He was a lifelong area resident.

He served in the United States Marine Corp.

He was a welder and a member of Clark Memorial United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father and a brother Mark Van Winkle.

Survivors include his mother Bobbie Van Winkle of Artesia sons James Neal Van Winkle of Carlsbad, N.M., and Jerry West of Texas daughters Cara Pierce of Carlsbad, and Jami Van Winkle of Lubbock, Texas sister Sue Sleeman of Carlsbad grandchildren Fiona Star Van Winkle, Damian Blaze Van Winkle, Mashell Pierce, Skylar Pierce and Brittany Pierce.
