Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, July 25, at Terpening Son Chapel for Billy K. Davis, 1905 W. Runyan Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mr. Davis, 77, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at Artesia General Hospital. Jason Kraft will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kory Mauritsen, Jonathan Davis, Jacob Davis, Kale Mauritsen, Bradley Davis, Tye Davis, Elton Menefee, Mark Mauritsen, and David Alvarado. Honorary pallbearers will be Alvin Doshier, Mike Mahan, Clifford Williams, Guillermo Orquiz, Peyton Yates, Mike Carter, and Johnny Flores. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10 AM Tuesday. Mr. Davis was born June 19, 1930 in Littlefield, Texas; the son of Clarence Davis and Lena Kiser Davis. On Feb. 14, 1956 he was married to Patricia Grant in Lovington, NM. He came to Artesia in 1958 from Whitharral, Texas. She preceded him in death May 7, 1989. He served in the U.S. Army during Korea. He was a Production foreman for Yates Drilling. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Wilburn Davis, James Davis, Bob Davis, and a sister Maxine Cheves. Survivors include sons Jeff Davis and wife Tammy of Artesia, Grant Davis and wife Ann of Hereford, Texas, and Tommy Davis and wife Kristy of Hewitt, Texas; daughters Mecca Mauritsen and husband Mark of Artesia, and Maxine Davis of Artesia; 10 grandchildren Bradley Davis, Christi Gwynne and fiance Michael Araujo, Cami Gwynne, Jonathan Davis, Jacob Davis, Tye Davis, Lacey Davis, Kirsten Mauritsen, Kory Mauritsen, and Kale Mauritsen; 1 great-granddaughter Julianne Molina; several nieces and nephews including Jimmy Davis of Artesia. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity.
