Billie Vogt

Graveside services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday, May 27, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Billie Angel Vogt of Bonner Springs, Kans.

Vogt, 87, passed away peacefully April 12, 2016, at a Bonner Springs nursing home.

Dwayne Pounds of the Hermosa Church of Christ will open and close the services, with the eulogy delivered by her son, John C. Angel.

Billie, known as "B.B." by family and friends, was born Aug. 16, 1928, in Hagerman to Curtis A. and Ruby P. Baker.

She was a lifelong resident of Artesia when she married E.K. Angel of West Virginia in 1950. The couple resided in both Eunice and Artesia until his death in 1970.

Billie later married Vernon E. Vogt of Nebraska, and in their later years, the couple resided in San Antonio, Texas.

Survivors include son John C. Angel and wife Lu Ann of Farmington; granddaughter Keeley Angel Mueller, husband Matt, and their daughter Korinne, all of Rapid City, S.D.; brother James A. Baker of Artesia; sister Stella E. Heathington of Artesia; nephews Michael S. Heathington and wife Gail of Midland, Texas, James C. Baker and wife Gina of Dallas, Texas, and Larry Murphy of Artesia; and nieces Cheryl L. Welch and Shirley Murphy, both of Artesia.
