BILLIE RAYNELL SMITH

Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Upper Hope Cemetery for Billie Raynell Smith of Artesia.

Mrs. Smith, 60, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at her home.

Jess McCabe will officiate at the services.

Billie was born May 23, 1955 in Artesia, NM; the daughter of Billie Merle (McCabe) Cox. She was a longtime area resident.

On December 7, 1981 she was married to Thomas William Smith in Carlsbad, NM.

She was a paramedic and a member of Kenneth Copeland Ministries and Phi-Beta Kappa Honor Society. Billie enjoyed painting china, scrapbooking and dog grooming.

Survivors include her husband Will Smith of Artesia; parents Billie Merle Mann of Lovington, NM step-father Clifton Mann of Lovington, and step-father Jay Alcorn of Artesia; daughters Jesse Luginbill of Artesia and Sheila Stewart of Roswell, NM; step- brother Cliff Mann Fr. of Artesia; step-sister Leandra Finney of Roswell; grandchildren Kodi Smith and Chani Overmire; great-grandchildren Jaedon, Kase and Jaxson.
