Billie Burchett

Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 23, at Terpening Son Chapel for Billie Burchett, 2723 W. Richardson Ave. Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Burchett, 80, died Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at her home. Michael Lee will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening Son. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 a.m. Thursday. Mrs. Burchett was born May 24, 1929 in Breckenridge, Texas; the daughter of Elmer Cornwell and Francis Gossip Cornwell. On May 25, 1956 she was married to Harry Burchett in Springfield, Ohio. She came to Artesia in 1961 from Springfield, Ohio. She was a housewife and a member of the Community of Christ. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Sean Burchett, a daughter Sue Savage, 3 sisters, 2 brothers and a grandson Jeremy Rowe. Survivors include her husband Harry Burchett of the family home; sons Sean Burchett of Sweetwater, Texas, Don Burchett of Artesia, Neil Burchett of Sweetwater, Harry Burchett Jr. of Artesia, James Burchett of El Paso, Texas, and Ray Burchett of Albuquerque, N.M.; daughter Jerri Burchett of Artesia, brother Wayne Cornwell of San Jose, Calif.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
