Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 31 at the Lower Hope Cemetery for Bill Weddige of Hope, New Mexico. Mr. Weddige, 77, died Sunday, October 27, 2002 in Artesia, New Mexico. Rev. Don Johnston will officiate at the services with Masonic Graveside Rites. Honorary pallbearers will be Murney Cauhape, Michael Casabonne, Bones Newsom, Clarence Forister, Tracy Richardson, Curtis Harrison, Donald Young and Allen Bramlett. Mr. Weddige was born February 5, 1925 in Hope; the son of Bert Weddige and Ruth N. Barley Weddige. On January 15, 1965 he was married to Nadine Deeg in Artesia. He was a Farm and Ranch owner and operator and member of Hope Methodist Church; the Masonic Lodge; and the Elks Lodge. He was also a member of the Hope Volunteer Fire Department; the Sacramento Cattle Grazers Association; and was a board member of the Eddy County Farm Livestock Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents; by a brother Lewis Weddige; and by a sister Dorothy Weddige. Survivors include his wife Nadine Weddige of the family home; sons Von Weddige of Hope and Billy Weddige of Capitan, N.M.; a daughter Linda Richardson of Artesia; a sister Frances Ray of Lubbock, Texas; three grand-children; and two step-grandchildren.
