Bill Felton

Services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 24,at Clark Memorial MethodistChurch for Bill Benton Felton, 1504 W. Washington Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Felton, 90, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Pastor Travis Husted will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Felton, Shawn Felton, Don Manthie, David Curry, Charles Kuykendall, and Kim Harrison. Honorary pallbearers will be the Artesia Masonic Lodge 28 AF and AM, Good Sams, and his wonderful neighbors.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.

Bill was born July 15, 1921 in Point, Texas the son of James H. Felton and Ruth Wells Felton. He was a lifelong resident of Artesia.

On October 20, 1979 he was married to Joy D. Griggs in Artesia, NM. She preceded him in death February 29, 2012.

He served in the United States Air Force during World War II.

He was a farmer and worked in the Artesia City Water Department. He was a member of Clark Memorial Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge 28 AF and AM, and Good Sams Travel Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, and 2 brothers.

Survivors include daughter Emily Curry and husband Leroy of Artesia son Mark Felton and wife Eileen of Plano, Texas brothers John Felton of California, Bob Felton of Austin, Texas, and Dwain Felton of Artesia 5 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren.
