Bill Chase

Closed casket services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, December 13, at West Main Baptist Church for Billy Wayne Chase, 14 Smokey Trail Circle, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Chase, 80, died Monday, December 10, 2012 at his home.

Belton Mathews will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Dave Loseke, Allen Alderson, Scott Alexander, Randy Kinnibrugh, Arvin Kinnibrugh, George Moreau, Baron Chandler and Jim Lloyd. Visitation at Terpening Son Mortuary will begin at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Bill was born September 25, 1932 in Bovina, Texas the son of Edgar Robert Chase and Etta Marie Richards Chase. The family moved to Artesia in 1934.

He served his country in the United States Army from 1953 to 1955. On February 1, 1958 he was married to Lenna Faye Hitt in Artesia. He worked in the oil field as a pumper.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents and by a sister Vera Doughty.

Survivors include his wife Lenna Faye Chase of the family home sons Verble Chase and wife Gaynel of Carlsbad, N.M. and Danny Chase and wife Sheila of Artesia brothers George Chase and wife Neva of Artesia, Mack Chase and wife Marilyn of Artesia and Jim Chase of Albuquerque, N.M. sisters Margaret Montgomery of Artesia, Shirley Blancet and husband Cookie of Lovington, N.M. and Nona Brewer and husband Tom of Artesia. grandchildren Justin Chase and wife Alexandra, Whitney Ballard and husband Parker, Kara Chase and Kelsi Chase five greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
