Services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 25, at First United Methodist Church for Bill Case, 2005 W. Centre Ave., Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Case, 87, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia, New Mexico.
Rev. James L. Edwards and Walt Isaacs will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Anderson, Carl Barnes, Eugene Coor, J.T. Jackson, Willie Pinson, and David Porter. Honorary pallbearers will be all other senior golfers. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 a.m. Friday.
Mr. Case was born June 7, 1923 in Okmulgee Coounty, Oklahoma the son of Willie Case and Susie Lee Doyle Case.
He came to Artesia in 1947 from California.
He was married to Mitzi Marie Mills in 1946 in Artesia. She preceded him in death in January 1986. On Feb. 5, 1987 he was married to Norine Perkins in Carlsbad, N.M.
He served in the United States Navy during World War II.
He was a pumper and member of First United Methodist Church, Mens Golf Association, and Elks Lodge. He played on a St. Louis Cardinals Minor League team before World War II, and was an umpire and referee in Artesia Sports for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Tony Case, a sister Julyone Cash and a brother Walter Case.
Survivors include his wife Norine Case of the family home son Douglas Lynn Case of Lodi, California brothers Jack Case and wife Doris of Artesia, Ted Case and wife Diane of Lodi, and Wally Case and wife Betty of Lodi grandchildren McKenzie Case and Kevin Case.
