Graveside services are scheduled at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, at Woodbine Cemetery for Betty Waldrop, 703 N. 13th Street, Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Waldrop, 95, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 at Artesia Good Samaritan Center. Wayne Bedingfield will officiate at the services. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons, and Brennan Orr, Kevin Orr, Brett Morris, and Nick Kelly. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10:00 am. Tuesday. Mrs. Waldrop was born August 24, 1911 in Chickasha, Oklahoma; the daughter of W. M. Williams and Emma Mooneyham Williams. On Oct. 31, 1934 she was married to A.T. Waldrop in Anadarko, Okla. She came to Artesia in 1945 from California. He preceded her in death July 19, 1996. She was a caregiver to children in her home and was a cook at Mrs. Pete's Burgers for many years. She was a member of the Methodist denomination. She was preceded in death by her parents, 3 brothers, and 4 sisters. Survivors include a daughter Imogene Franklin Loyd of Artesia; sister Velva Justi of San Leandro, California; granddaughters Sherry Berry and husband Jerry of Hobbs, N.M., Cindy Carpenter and husband Jay of Williamsburg, N.M., Jamie Johnson of Artesia, and Kim Johnson and husband Mitch of Artesia; 9 great-grandchildren Melissa Dooley, James Berry, Beau Carpenter, Jake Carpenter, Jess Carpenter, Brian Johnson, Jessica Johnson, Megan Johnson, and Oliver Johnson; a great-great-grandson Colten Carpenter.
