Betty Sellmer

Services are scheduled for 10 am Tuesday, January 28, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Beronica (Betty) Gonzales Sellmer of Artesia, New Mexico.

Ms. Sellmer, 60, died on January 20, 2025 in Artesia.

Father Frances Lazer will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm Monday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Pallbearers will be Gabriel Sellmer, Leo Torres, Miguel Gonzales, Izaiah Gonzales, Ethan Jorren, and Adam Jorren.

Betty was born on April 27, 1964 in Artesia; the daughter of Catarino Gonzales and Juanita Perez Gonzales.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Catarino "Chuco" Gonzales Jr., Johnny Gonzales, and Frank Gonzales.

Survivors include her son Gabriel Sellmer; daughter Nikia Rubio and son-in-law Fernando;companion Basilio Gomez; brothers Mike Gonzales and wife Arcelia, and Angel Gonzales and wife Denise; sisters Socorro Gonzales, Toni Hernandez and husband Ben, Helen Acosta, and Sally Jorren and husband Mike; sisters-in-law Alice Gonzales and Betty Gonzales; also by her beloved grandchildren Kendall and Jay Rubio.
