Betty Martin

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 11, at First Baptist Church for Betty Jo Martin of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mrs. Martin, 81, died Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital.

Chris Martin and Rev. Rick Sullivan will officiate at the services. Cremation will take place following the service under direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m.

Betty was born May 3, 1932 in Maryville, Texas the daughter of Esville Luna and Mary Winkles Luna. She was a longtime Artesia resident.

Betty was a sales clerk at C.R. Anthonys and a member of Faith Baptist Church. She was a doll collector.

She was preceded in death by her parents daughter Connie Martin 2 sisters and a brother.

Survivors include her daughter Marva Mathews and husband Bill of Artesia sons Richard Martin, and Robert Martin and wife Cheryl both of Artesia grandchildren Kimberly, Brandy, Henry, Casey, Chris, Makenzie, and Jakoda 7 greatgrandchildren sister Joyce Collinsworth Artesia brotherinlaw Bobby Ham of Artesia.

Memorials may be sent to the Hermosa Drive Church of Christ Building Fund, the N.M. Baptist Childrens Home, or charity of your choice.
