Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 8, at Terpening Son Chapel for Bertha Elenora Carr of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Carr, 73, died Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Artesia General Hospital in Artesia, New Mexico. Diana Sosa will officiate and cremation will take place following the services. Mrs. Carr was born May 30, 1933 in Lincoln, Nebraska; the daughter of Forest Kreiling and Minta Sunday Kreiling. On December 14, 1969 she was married to Harlow Marvin Carr in Lansing, Michigan. She came to Artesia a year ago in May 2005. He preceded her in death July 20, 1988. She was a factory worker and of the Methodist faith. Survivors include three sons, Rayford Pinkard of Kalamazoo, Michigan, Irving McCarrick, Sr. of Artesia, N.M., David McCarrick and significant other Robin Collins of Battlecreek, Michigan; two daughters, Jackie Swain and husband William and Bonita Johnson and husband Keven both of Tucson, Arizona; step son, David Carr of Lake Erie, Michigan, step daughter, Susan Crandell and husband Patrick of Webberville, Michigan; sister, Belva Tanner and husband William of Bigelow, Arkansas; brother, Frank Kreiling and wife Hazel of Wheeler, Michigan; eleven grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren; and family friend, Jeanine Anderson of Mt. Ida, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Tony Pinkard, two brothers, Maylon Kreiling, Daniel Kreiling, and two sisters Betty Coleman and Berdina Nanny.
