Bernabe Carrasco

November 7, 1957 — July 14, 2020

Bernabe B. Carrasco, 62, was called to his eternal resting place on July 14th, 2020 at Artesia General Hospital.

Bernabe entered this world on November 7, 1957, born to Ramon S. and Esperanza B. Carrasco in Artesia, New Mexico.

He was greeted in Heaven by his loving parents, brothers Jesus Bermea, Anselmo, Miguel and Ramon Carrasco and his nephew Matthew Carrasco.

Visitation for Bernabe is scheduled on Tuesday, July 28th at 9 am, followed by a rosary at 10 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 1111 N. Roselawn Avenue.

Cremation will take place under the direction of Terpening & Son Mortuary.

He is survived by companion Mary Segura and beloved grandson Vincent Johnson, "Big V" as Bernabe always called him. Brothers Jose Bermea from Odessa, Texas, Anesimo Carrasco from San Antonio, Texas, Francisco Carrasco from Tucson, Arizona, sisters Maria Carrasco and Esperanza C. Morris both from Carlsbad, New Mexico. Numerous nieces and nephews.

In his lifetime Bernabe worked with numerous companies around Artesia and Midland, Texas as a roustabout and driver. Bernabe enjoyed watching old westerns and all war movies. He enjoyed walking and would walk just about anywhere in town. Bernabe was a huge Elvis fan. He enjoyed baking and would often bake sweet breads, cookies and cakes. Bernabe never met a stranger, he was quick with a handshake and followed with pleasant conversation. Bernabe was devoted to Vincent, always making sure Vincent had everything he needed and wanted. He was a loving companion, brother, uncle and grandfather and will forever be dearly missed.
