Benjamin Gallegos

Memorial services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Monday, Dec. 5, 2011 at Our Lady of Grace Church for Benjamin Lunares Gallegos, 13 Robin Road, Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Gallegos, 75, died Thursday, December 1, 2011 at Heartland Nursing Center in Artesia.

Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary. No public visitation is planned

Mr. Gallegos was born September 7, 1936 in Chihuahua, Mexico the son of Benjamin Andrade Gallegos and Maria de Lunares Gallegos. He came to Artesia in 1953 from Mexico. His parents precede him in death. He was also preceded in death by brothers Jose Gallegos and Carlos Gallegos.

On October 30, 1958 he was married to Antonia Grado in Artesia.

He was a farmer and member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He loved to plant chili and raise livestock.

Survivors include his wife Antonia Gallegos of the family home daughters Belia Hernandez and husband Alex of Phoenix, Ariz., Olga Galindo and husband Marcelino of Artesia, Nora Perez and husband Luis of Artesia, and Balbina Fernandez and husband Robert of Fort Stockton, Texas sons Benjamin Gallegos, Jr. of Artesia, and Jesse Gallegos of Artesia six brothers four sisters 18 grandchildren and 22 greatgrandchildren.
