Belen Dominguez

A memorial mass is scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 14 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Belen Lujan Dominguez of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Dominguez, 91, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at Artesia General Hospital.

Fr. Paul Murtagh, SS.CC. will officiate at the services. Cremation is under the direction of Terpening Son Mortuary.

Belen was born December 21, 1921 in Redford, Texas the son of Cipriano Dominguez and Jesusita Lujan Dominguez.

He served his country in the United States Army during World War II.

On June 21, 1946 he was married to Juanita Subia in Pecos, Texas. They came to Artesia in 1947 from Texas. She preceded him in death December 2, 1993. He was also preceded in death by his parents three sisters a brother daughter Gloria Perez and three grandchildren.

He was a construction worker and heavy equipment operator and was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. Belen loved spending time with all of his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughter Belen Valdez and husband Domingo of Levelland, TX sons Robert Dominguez of Artesia, Newman Dominguez and Sara Uranga of Artesia, and Ruben Dominguez of Artesia sister Maria Acosta of Artesia 11 grandchildren 29 greatgrandchildren and 26 greatgreatgrandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
