Becky Showers

Services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, at Victory Baptist Church for Becky Sue Showers of Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Showers, 40, died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Pastor Michael A. Maurer will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Cody Petree, Chancy Petree, Joshua Jewell, Stacy Greer, Billy Martin, Larry Norsworthy, Robert Sinclair, and Timmy Norsworthy. Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Monday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mrs. Showers was born August 30, 1967 in Seminole, Texas; the daughter of Charles V. Franks and Lois Sinclair Franks. She came to Artesia in 1969 from Texas. Becky was a homemaker and a member of Victory Baptist Church. She also loved to fish, hike, and spend time with her children. She was preceded in death by her father; step-father Walter R. Wolfe; and grandparents Bulah and Raymond Sinclair. Survivors include her mother Lois Wolfe of Artesia; husband Dennis Showers of Quemado, N.M.; son Walter Ray Showers of Quemado; daughters Elisha Fay Showers of Quemado, and Kelsey Lee Showers of Quemado; brother Charles Franks of Artesia; sisters Melinda Petree and husband Wendle of Lovington, N.M., and Rhonda VanCuren and husband Clifford of Artesia; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would like to invite relatives and friends to 39 Billy Drive in Artesia following the services for a meal.
