B.D. Hope

Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 15, at Woodbine Cemetery for Billy Don Hope of Artesia, New Mexico.

Mr. Hope, 81, died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at his home.

Belton Mathews will officiate at the services with burial at Woodbine Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark Hope, David Hope, Mike Tabor, David Taylor, Evan Heald III, and Roger Thornton.

Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m.

B.D. was born September 18, 1930 in Lubbock, Texas the son of Henry Hope and Ethel Silver Hope. He was a long time Artesia area resident.

He served his country in the United States National Guard from 1949 1958.

He worked as a pumper and was of the Baptist denomination. He was a member of the Artesia Rural Water Coop, and Pawsnclaws.

B.D. was preceded in death by his parents and a wife Martha Lucille Stout Hope.

Survivors include his daughters Sherry Tabor and husband Mike of Artesia, and Blanda Nowak and husband Tony of Hagerman, N.M. sons Mark Hope of Carlsbad, N.M., and David Hope of Artesia 14 grandchildren and 21 greatgrandchildren.
