Services are scheduled at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 7, at First United Methodist Church for Barbara Butts Kilough, 1601 S. 20th St., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Kilough, 65, died Saturday, April 2, 2005 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas. Rev. Steve Ormord will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Raymond Bernard, David Joyce, Jerry Butts, Stephen Butts, Michael L. Butts, and Jay Kilough. Honorary pallbearers will be all City of Artesia Employees. Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 10 am. Wednesday. Mrs. Kilough was born February 11, 1940 in Belleville, Kansas; the daughter of Royal Butts and Ardath VanWinkle Butts. On Nov. 20, 1987 she was married to James Kilough in Artesia. She was a lifelong resident of Artesia. She was City Clerk for the City of Artesia until retiring in Feb. 2004. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Survivors include her mother Ardath Carter of Artesia; sons Roy Richards and wife Dolly of Artesia, and Lee Roy Richards and wife Susan of Artesia; brother Michael Butts of Artesia; grandchildren Brandi Foy of Las Cruces, N.M., Scott Foy of Artesia, Kelli Richards of Artesia, and Melissa Richards of Artesia. She was preceded in death by her father and her husband.
