Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, September 3 at Terpening & Son Mortuary for Barbara Ann Hendrix of Hope, New Mexico.
Mrs. Hendrix, 81, died on August 26, 2022 in El Paso, Texas.
Clinton Dean, Jim Barnett, and Leslie "Teet" Hendrix will officiate at the services. Burial will follow at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Travis Stuart, Clayton Vaughn, Payson Hendrix, Tony Heady, Wyatt Allen, Colt Mitchell, and Clint Dean. Honorary pallbearers will be all of her other grandchildren.
Barbara was born on April 17, 1941 in Artesia; the daughter of Cecil Standard and Laura Russell Standard. She was a longtime resident of Hope.
She enjoyed studying the Bible, bird watching, playing (WINNING) games, jigsaw puzzles, helping others, and her favorite thing was spending time with her friends and family. She loved a lot in her time.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lewis Wayne "Sonny" Hendrix, brothers Clifford Standard and Rex Standard, sisters Mozelle Hall, Nadine McCubbin, and Nancy McCabe, brothers-in-law Don Phillips, Jerry Alexander, and Ralph Hall, and a grandson Andy Heady Lyles.
Survivors include her sons Darren Vaughn and wife Rosie, and Kendale Hendrix and wife Johnna; daughters Webbie Carvajal and husband Jerry, Leda Lyles and husband Greg, and Dana Dean and husband Quentin; sisters Marcie Phillips, and Annie Alexander; brother-in-law Bill McCabe; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews; lifelong friends Rose Bolen, Elisa Marquez, Ann Whittington, and Laverne Wilson; also a special friend and caregiver Linda Romero.
