Arthur William Chenoweth, a resident of Lakewood, New Mexico, died in Lubbock, Texas on May 27, 2003. He was born in Stratford, Ontario, Canada on October 22, 1914 and moved, with his parents, James Arthur and Camilla Lawry Chenoweth, to Detroit, Michigan, in 1922. He graduated from the College of the Ozarks now the University of the Ozarks in Clarksvflle, Arkansas in 1936. He served in the Navy during WWII where his musical talent became apparent and soon he was performing with the Great Lakes Naval Choir as a soloist. Returning to civilian life, he moved to California where he established the Home Organ Society. Arthur enjoyed traveling and found the perfect way to join that love with the love of making music. After an early retirement, he purchased a motorhome and traveled throughout the United States and Canada. He took his show on the road, so to speak for, as he traveled, he attended many rallies, conventions and RV-ing get-togethers where his music and his passion for entertaining delighted those fortunate enough to be in his audiences. Arthur Chenoweths legacy is the inspiration he gave us through his music and the positive changes he brought about in the lives of all those who knew and loved him. Mr. Chenoweth is survived by his sister, Claire Williams of Melrose, FL; nephew Tucker Williams of Los Altos, Ca; and nieces Janice King of Melrose, FL; Donna Houghton of Keystone Heights, FL and Pamela Shaberly of Suttons Bay, MI. One sister, Verna Wollar preceded him in death.
