Armando Gonzalez Morillon

Armando Morillón, 68, passed away on July 14 in Fort Worth, TX surrounded by his family. He was born on August 27, 1955, in Francisco I Madero, Durango, Mexico; son of Delfino Morillón Receo and Irene González Gurrola. He immigrated to the United States in the 70’s and resided in Artesia, New Mexico for 43 years before moving to Fort Worth in 2017.

Armando and his first wife, Norma Morillón, had six children, Marcos Morillón, Valeria Madrid (Daniel), Laura Morillón (David), Marisela Johnson (Jack), Adrian Morillón (Alex) and Santiago Morillón.

He worked at The Compress Gin, Hamilton Roofing, and Marbob/Mack Energy for 34 years.

He was an exemplary son, great brother, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. He was a hard-working, patient and loving person. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved running with his late son, Marcos. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and was often found playing basketball with his children. His hobbies included playing the guitar, singing, welding and carpentry.

Armando will always be remembered for his witty comments and contagious smile. He was a strong-willed, loving and friendly person. He encouraged his children to follow their dreams and pursue a college education.

He was preceded in death by his father, Delfino Morillón Receo, a brother Eugenio Morillón, his son, Marcos Morillón, his mother, Irene Rivera and his stepfather Anastacio Rivera.

He is survived by his children, brothers, Carlos Morillón, Delfino Morillón, Luis Rivera and Juventino Rivera; sisters Margarita Martínez, María de los Ángeles Gutiérrez, Maria Dalila Rivera and Maria Victoria Rivera, 11 grandchildren; Mateo and Makaylee Morillón, Deandra and Joslyn Madrid, Cristian, Marcos and Camilo Urban, Natalia, Alysandra and Steele Johnson, Analucia Morillón, and one great-grandchild Kaiden Orosco.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 10 am with a rosary at 9:30 am at Our Lady of Grace Catholic church. All family and friends are invited to attend.
