Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, June 30 at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Arcenio Montano of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mr. Montano, 72, died on June 17, 2023 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
Fr. Vijay will officiate at the services with burial to follow at Woodbine Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joey Rayos, Jennifer Rayos, Estelle Riley,Tomás Sanchez, Farrah Sanchez, Faith Kimble, Jaiden Chavarria Ochoa. Honorary pallbearers will be Aaron Ochoa, Marcella Rayos, Michael Riley, Ernesto Cordova, and Elijio Gallegos. A rosary is also scheduled for 6:30 pm on Thursday at Our Lady of Grace Church. Visitation will be at Terpening & Son Mortuary from 2-4 pm on Thursday.
Arcenio, Robert, Uncle Bob, Tio Bobby was born on May 26, 1951 in Cebolla, NM, the son of José Bibian Montaño and Ofilia Serrano Montaño. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. He never met a stranger, was always ready to help anyone in need, and had a heart of gold. He loved spending time with his family, making people laugh, going fishing, playing bingo, watching wrestling, and cheering for the Denver Broncos.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother, sister Kasilda Montaño, sister Mary Anna Gallegos, brother Augustín Maximinio Montaño (Max), great nephews Luciano Ochoa, Jaime Chávez, and Ty Riley.
Survivors include daughter Regina Montaño, granddaughter Mauricia Farrell, sister-in-law Marcella Montaño; nieces Lisa Chávez and husband Manny, Karla Chávez and husband René, Tawnya Sanchez and husband Steven, Estelle Riley and husband Chris, Crystal Cordova; great nephews José Rayos (Joey), Aaron Ochoa, Rene Chávez and wife Erika, Tomás Sanchez, Michael Riley, Ernesto Cordova, Elijio Cordova; great nieces Jennifer Rayos, Karen Chávez and Erick Rangel, Farrah Sanchez, Chyna Chavarria, Selena Ureta and husband Noe; great great nieces Marcella Rayos, Faith Kimble, Laura Aguirre, Abrianna Ochoa, Autumn Chavarria Ochoa, Aaliya Rodriguez, Amiah Rodriguez, Sofia Ureta, Emily Chávez; great great nephews Jaiden Chavarria Ochoa, Noe Ureta, JoRiah Rayos, and Manuelito Chávez, Daniel Hernandez, Adrian Hernandez.
