Services for Arcelia Gomez Granado will be held on Friday July 24th with a rosary starting at 9:30am and mass following at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Artesia. Visitation will be held on July 23rd at Terpening and Son Mortuary, from 2-4pm. Father Vijay will officiate at the services.
Arcelia passed away peacefully on July 21st at Artesia Health Care Center (San Pedro).
Arcelia was born on September 4, 1937 in Hagerman NM to Adolfo and Maria Duarte Gomez. On June 26, 1955 she married Salvador DeLaO Granado in Artesia. They were married for 60 years until his passing on July 30, 2015.
Arcelia worked at Payne packing and at H and J grocery store for many years. She was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, the Artesia boosters club, the Moose Lodge, Womens Bowling Association, St. Vincent de Paul, the Apostolado, and was also a cub scout den mother.
Acelia was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and a friend to many. She was a devout catholic and was willing to help anyone in any time of need. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
Pallbearers will be her sons Mike and Donny Granado, grandson Michael Grandado, great grandson Chase Collins, and great nephews Lawrence Gomez and Dominic Gomez.
Those preceding her in death are her parents and her husband. Brothers Manuel, Adolfo, Joe Gomez and sister Alpidia Gomez Garcia. Also preceding her in death is her daughter-in-law Cori Granado.
She is surviced by her sons Mike Granado and wife Sylvia of Artesia and Donny Granado and wife Kelli of Gilbert, AZ. Grandchildren Kristen Collins and husband Doug of Artesia, Michael Granado and fiancé Laura Bejarano of Las Cruces NM, Rachel Granado, Adan Granado and fiancé Meagan Haase of Gilbert, AZ. Great grandchildren Kambry and Chase Collins of Artesia, Carder, Colten, Cash and Crew Cox of Gilbert, AZ. And great grand baby on the way Kiana Arcelia Granado. Brothers Sam Gomez and wife Dominga and Ernesto Gomez all of Roswell NM.
