Graveside services are scheduled at 10 a.m. Monday, Oct. 27 for A.R. Hartley of Artesia.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 26.
Mr. Hartley, 85, died Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at his home.
Rev. David Grousnick will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Tim Norman, Billy Norman, Kevin Hartley, Danny Harvey, Donnie Covert and Lance Wilbanks.
A.R. was born June 17, 1929 in Hagerman, New Mexico the son of James Raymond Hartley and Mary Florence Holt Hartley. He came to Artesia in 1935 from Hagerman, NM.
On July 24, 1948 he was married to Audrey Mae Swackhammer in Carlsbad, NM. She preceded him in death Dec. 19, 1995.
He was a rancher and also worked for Haliburton for 40 years. He was a member of Mayhill Baptist Church, The Moose Lodge, and was a past president of Robin Hood Park Water Users Association and the 2030 Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, a sister and a grandson Michael Norman.
Survivors include his daughters Kathren Carol Covert and husband Donnie of Malakoff, TX, Phyllis Ann Norman and husband Bob of Malakoff, TX and Sharon Kay Wright and husband Larry of T or C, NM grandchildren Timothy Norman, Billy Norman, Kevin Hartley, Kender Alvey and James Covert and 7 greatgrandchildren.
