Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Apolonia Almager Loredo of Artesia, New Mexico.
Mrs. Loredo, 80, died Monday, August 13, 2012 at Artesia General Hospital.
Fr. Brian Guerrini, SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Roger Olvera, Andrea Olvera, Joseph Loredo, Gabriel Loredo, Miguel Duran, Jr.,and Ernest Duran.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. A rosary will be at Our Lady of Grace Wednesday at 8:00 p.m.
Apolonia was born January 2, 1932 in Goliad County, Texas the daughter of Timoteo Almager and Paula Sanchez Almager. She was a longtime Artesia resident.
On March 19, 1954 she was married to Teofilio Gomez Loredo in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death August 6, 2000. She was also preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Gloria Vasquez.
Apolonia was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church. She also enjoyed sewing.
Survivors include her daughters Elvira Renteria of Roswell, N.M., Lenore Gomez and husband Joe of Brownfield, Texas, Lupe Prieto and husband Jimmy of Levelland, Texas, Toribia Duran and husband Miguel of Artesia, and Luisa Ruiz and husband James of Hobbs, N.M. sons Andres Loredo and wife Janie of Lubbock, Texas, and Alejandro Loredo and wife Veronica of Lubbock sisters Nana Lopez of Texas, and Lucinda Almager of Midland, Texas brother Joe Almager of Stanton, Texas 23 grandchildren and 20 greatgrandchildren.
