Antonio Silva

Services are scheduled at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, August 1, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, Lake Arthur, N.M., for Antonio G. Silva, 429 E. Anita Rd., Lake Arthur, New Mexico. Mr. Silva, 89, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Artesia General Hospital. Burial will be at Twin Oaks Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be family members. A rosary is also scheduled at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Our Lady of Guadalupe in Lake Arthur. Mr. Silva was born March 21, 1920 in Guerrero, Chihuahua, Mexico; the son of Antonio Silva Arreola and Leonor Gomez Arreola. He came to Artesia in 1964 from El Paso, Texas. He was a farm laborer. He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and was very proud to have received his U.S. Citizenship. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and two sisters. Survivors include sons Antonio Silva, Jr. and wife Elisa of Big Spring, Texas, Juan V. Silva and wife Dayna of Houston, Texas, and Gilbert Silva of Big Spring; daughter Maria Trivizo and husband Antonio of Lake Arthur; 7 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
