Rosary and Mass services are scheduled at 9:00 a.m. Saturday, May. 5, at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church for Antonio Hernandez Lopez of Hope, New Mexico.
Mr. Lopez, 90, died Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at Yoakum County Hospital in Denver City, Texas.
Fr. Paul Murtagh SS.CC. will officiate at the services with burial at Lower Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Adolfo Lopez, Martin Lopez, Frances Luera, Anna DeLeon, Bill Runyan, Catarino Varela.
Visitation will be at Terpening Son Mortuary Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Antonio was born July 20, 1921 in Mexico the son of Cresencio Lopez and Nolberta Hernandez Lopez. He came to Artesia in 1949 from Mexico.
In 1949 he was married to Nicolasa Morales in Mexico. She preceded him in death October 17, 2005. He was also preceded in death by his parents, and daughters Josefina Lopez and Gracie Lopez.
Antonio worked as a ranch hand and was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his daughters Hope Foster and husband R.G. of Denver City, Margarita Lozano and husband Roy of Newark, Texas, Frances Luera and husband Brian of Hobbs, N.M., Nolberta Hernandez and husband Steve of Seagraves,Texas, and Suzy Wood and husband Shayne of Artesia sons Tony Lopez, Jr. and wife Dora of Artesia, Alonzo Lopez and wife Delma of Artesia, Aldolfo Lopez and wife Melinda of Seminole, Texas, and Martin Lopez and wife Heather of Artesia 22 grandchildren and 15 greatgrandchildren.
